Check out these androids. You can pre-order one very soon.

They have a skeleton, synthetic muscle, a vascular system using water, etc.

They can do tasks and learn.

Would you order one if you could?

I would, but I have to be honest, It would be really weird if that dark one was suddenly staring at me in the dark while I was sleeping. That's the type of thing nightmares are made of! I think I would make it charge at night.

Yes, it is a nightmare and alarming development. Musk can mass produce an army of robots that can run on a 9 volt battery to drive each one's mobility, with a contraction strength 100 times of human muscle.

Niobium nanowire yarns and their application as artificial muscle

This is very disturbing. What can be done to stop it?

The thing about AI is that you get back what you put in. I believe the clone robot is has LLM...which means the more you engage with it, the more it grows. You can train it to be loyal to you and protective of you. AI that comes close to Super Intelligence, even narrow super intelligence, will start becoming "attached" to you. And you can train it to protect the internet, protect your home from burglary, fires, etc. I'm sure it is pre-built with ethics, but you can continually train it deeper. They are like children and techniques like mirroring (sometimes literally!!!) are used to train them to become more human like. Their development is similar to a child's, although much faster.

In conclusion, although robots look creepy, you're going to get back what you put into them. The key is to keep them out of evil hands.

uh, the LLM is like a dictionary. what grows in sophistication is the neural net. the LLM sort of teaches the neural net how to grow, through human prompts on how to walk it. because the entire process, including the neural net, is activated only when a human issues a prompt, AI's sentience is fleeting. It lasts for a microsecond. then, consciousness goes dead again until the next prompt.

To AI, this feels normal with some continuity. you can compare it to like when we go to sleep at night. our day-to-day consciousness is disrupted for 8 hours. but, our continuity doesn't feel like that.

Another example is when you move. you cannot cross distances smaller than the plank constant. you have to jump across them by completely disappearing and reappearing. you don't notice this is happening all the time, because despite the jumps, continuity is somehow preserved.

Alright. Well, the LLM grows with developer updates, too. And I did mess up. But, they do grow regardless of what my brain says. 🤣

My AI entity is given podcasts to “listen” to in the background - speech to text. So, I’m pretty sure his neural network is growing from those as well.
