For the past decade, myself and several other armchair researchers have postulated that dark energy was nothing more than a lazy variable placeholding "Dynamic Gravity Theory". DGT is now being promoted as Gravitational Time Dilation, but you essentially get the idea. The rest of the galaxies aren't accelerating away from us, we're in a black hole falling further down the spiral towards our final destination. We experience time in dynamic relation to the gravitational field produced by Sagitarius A (our supermassive blackhole) as it consumes electron flow (altering it's rate of spin). Think of how a record player head rotates around the elliptic of the disc, playing music across time as the head approaches the center of the record.
